Difficulty: Easy like Sunday morning

Ingredients

  • 250g of macaroni
  • 1 jar of white sauce
  • 200g grated white cheddar (save 30g for the top)
  • 50g breadcrumbs
  • 1 pack of Fire & Smoke ham shavings
  • 10-15g of butter

Instructions

  1. Grease a gratin dish with the butter and preheat the oven to 190°C.
  2. Cook the macaroni for 5-7 minutes. Drain the pasta, saving a little of the cooking water, and give it a blast of the cold tap to stop it cooking.
  3. Return the cooled pasta to the pot, add the sauce and most of the cheese and mix well. If it’s too thick, add a little of the cooking water.
  4. Chop the ham shavings, reserve a little for the top and mix the rest through the pasta.
  5. Turn into the greased baking dish and spread out.
  6. Combine the breadcrumbs, remaining cheese and ham shavings and scatter over the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the pasta is bubbling and golden brown.

Serve, eat and enjoy, y’all!
